you cannot mix niacinamide and vitamin C I have seen so many posts saying that you should not mix these two ingredients together so let's start.
Niacinamide
is an amazing ingredient in skincare because it treats so many different problems
whether it's dark spots and hyperpigmentation redness or controlling oiliness
on the skin.
And it's a water-soluble ingredient that is
very stable vitamin C is another powerful ingredient because not only does it
brighten up the skin by reducing hyperpigmentation and dark spots in the face
but it also helps to protect against damage from free radicals throughout the
day which causes aging and causes dryness and a bunch of others skin issues.
But while
it's an unstable ingredient that oxidizes quickly when it's put in a stable formula
it can be very effective and treat a lot of issues in the skin.
Now the
myth is that by using both of these ingredients together they will cancel each
other out rendering both of the ingredients ineffective and they will also
cause redness and irritate the skin well the myth originates from a study
conducted in the 60s where they used non stabilized and pure forms of both ingredients
and expose them to very high temperatures over an extended period of time.
You have
to consider that you wouldn't expose your skincare to these extreme conditions also
not in that pure form nowadays and skincare both ingredients are stabilized nice
and a might especially is a very stable ingredient so you don't have to worry
about that so the bottom line is it's perfectly fine and safe to use niacinamide
and vitamin C together and combining them could even provide enhance skin
benefits.
